How to enable Instagram post embeds in your Wall of Love

Instagram requires an extra step to allow its posts to be embedded in third-party widgets. Here's how to enable it.

Why is this needed

Are you receiving the following error message when importing your posts?

The requested media is private. Only public media can be embedded.

By default, Instagram restricts embedding its posts on external sites. To display Instagram posts in your Testimonial Wall of Love, the original post must have embedding allowed at the account level.

How to enable embedding on your Instagram account

  1. Visit the settings page for your account: https://www.instagram.com/accounts/edit/

  2. In the sidebar, select "Sharing and reuse."

  3. Toggle the "Website embeds" option to on.

Once enabled, new and existing Instagram posts from your account can be embedded in your Wall of Love.

💡 Note: This setting applies to your entire account, not individual posts. Posts from accounts that have not enabled embedding will not display correctly on the wall.
