Install the Testimonial Browser Extension

Install the Testimonial Chrome extension to import reviews from 100+ sites, sign in to your account, and save them to your spaces.

Written by Damon Chen

Install the Testimonial browser extension to capture reviews and social proof from sites that do not have a built-in importer. It works in Chromium browsers such as Chrome, Brave, Microsoft Edge, and Vivaldi, and it is available on all plans.

Install it from the Chrome Web Store, the site footer (Chrome extension), or the Chrome extension page.

How it works

You install the extension and sign in with your Testimonial account. Saved reviews go into the spaces you choose.

On a supported site, right-click the review and choose Save text (or take a screenshot when you cannot select the text). Confirm the details, choose a space under Select Spaces, optionally check Add to my Wall of Love, and click Add. The review is saved as a text testimonial. Check Inbox or Import in the space, and your Wall of Love if you checked that box.

Launch walkthrough:

Before you start

  • A Testimonial account and at least one Space. Create one from the dashboard if needed.

  • A Chromium-based browser such as Chrome, Brave, Microsoft Edge, or Vivaldi.

  • Permission to install browser extensions on your computer.

Note: On the Free plan, your account can hold 2 video and 10 text testimonials (total). Starter and higher plans include unlimited text testimonials. Extension imports count toward your text testimonial limit.

What you can do

  • Save text from review and social pages on 100+ supported sites.

  • Use the screenshot feature on sites where copying text is difficult.

  • Check Add to my Wall of Love to publish a captured review on your Wall of Love immediately.

  • Use extra capture options on some platforms: Collect Product Hunt Review on Product Hunt, and native actions on X, LinkedIn, and YouTube.

  • Open the install flow from a space Import tab when you choose Capterra or Product Hunt.

Install and sign in

  1. Open the Testimonial extension in the Chrome Web Store and click Add to Chrome (or the equivalent install button in your browser).

  2. After installation, the extension prompts you to sign in. A Testimonial tab opens with the heading Chrome Extension Sign In and the message Sign in to your account to enable the Testimonial extension. Sign in with your usual method.

  3. When authentication succeeds, you see a Success! page: The Testimonial extension has successfully been authenticated. This window can now be closed. Close the tab and return to the site where you want to capture reviews.

Import a review with the extension

  1. On a supported website, open the review, comment, or post you want to save.

  2. Right-click the review text and choose Save text. On Product Hunt, choose Collect Product Hunt Review instead.

  3. In the extension panel, confirm the captured details. Under Select Spaces, choose the space (or spaces) to save to. Optionally check Add to my Wall of Love, then click Add.

  4. Open your space from the dashboard and check Inbox or Import (and your Wall of Love if you checked the box).

Tips, edge cases, and related links

When a site has no in-app importer

Many platforms listed above do not appear under a space Import tab. The browser extension is the way to add reviews from those sites one at a time.

Amazon, LinkedIn, and X

On Amazon review pages, use the extension if in-app URL import fails. For LinkedIn, URL import in the app works for posts; import comments and recommendations with the extension. For X, you can paste a post URL under Import, or capture posts with the extension.

Capterra and Product Hunt

In a space, open Import, click + Import, and choose Capterra or Product Hunt under Reviews. Testimonial opens an install prompt for the Chrome extension if you need it.
