If you are on the Free plan or recently moved back to it, this article explains whether you can still download video testimonials and how plan limits apply. It is for anyone managing testimonials in a Space who wants to save MP4 files locally.
Yes — you can download video testimonials on the Free plan and after downgrading. Open a Space and go to Inbox to download any video you have already received. Video testimonial credits (two on the Free plan) control how many new videos you can collect account-wide — they do not limit downloads of videos already in your account.
How it works
When a customer submits a video, Testimonial.to processes it and stores playback and download files on the testimonial. From Inbox, you open the testimonial menu and choose Download files to save the MP4 (plus thumbnail and other assets). This works on all plans — there is no separate download quota in the app.
Video testimonial credits are different: they count how many new video testimonials your account can still receive. New accounts on the Free plan start with 2 credits. Each new video received uses one credit until you upgrade to a paid plan (Starter, Ultimate, or Enterprise), where credits are unlimited. After you cancel or downgrade, your existing videos stay in your Spaces; your remaining credits are recalculated based on how many videos you already collected.
Before you start
You need at least one video testimonial already in the Space Inbox (downloads are per testimonial, not account-wide).
On the Free plan, you can collect 2 video and 10 text testimonials total account-wide (see Settings → Plan).
Paid plans include unlimited video testimonial credits; downgrading restores Free-plan limits for collecting new videos, not for downloading ones you already have.
Note: If you have used all video testimonial credits, you will see 😕 You used up all video testimonial credits. Please upgrade your plan. when trying to collect more videos. You can still download videos already in your Inbox.
What you can do
Download files — Save the Video (MP4), Video thumbnail, Thumbnail GIF, or Activity log for any video testimonial in Inbox, on any plan.
Collect new videos — On the Free plan, up to 2 video testimonials total across your account; upgrade via pricing for unlimited collection.
Wall of Love — On the Free plan, you can publish up to 2 videos on your Wall of Love per Space (separate from downloading files).
Download a video testimonial
Open the Space that contains the video, then click Inbox in the left sidebar.
Find the video testimonial and click the ⋯ (three-dot) menu on the card.
Click Download files, then choose Video to download the MP4.
Your browser saves the file. If a download does not start in Chrome, try again in an Incognito window.

Tips, edge cases, and related links
Free plan video credits vs downloads
Your Dashboard shows Total Videos as used/balance (for example, 1/2) when you are not on an unlimited plan. That counter tracks collection credits, not downloads. You can download every video already in your Inbox even when the balance shows 0.
After downgrading or canceling
When your subscription ends, Testimonial.to moves your account back to the Free plan. Videos you already received remain in your Spaces and stay downloadable from Inbox. Your video testimonial credit balance becomes 0 if you already collected two or more videos; otherwise you keep any unused credits (2 minus videos already collected).
To collect more than two new video testimonials account-wide, upgrade from Settings → Plan or pricing.
