Managing your NPS survey

Once your NPS survey is live, here's how to add recipients, track responses, embed it on your site, and update your settings.

Written by Rachel Ann Pangilinan

The survey management view

After creating a survey, click it from the NPS list to open its management view. At the top right, you'll find two buttons available at all times:

  • Preview — opens a live preview of your survey exactly as respondents will see it

  • Copy share link — copies the direct survey URL so you can share it manually via email, Slack, or anywhere else

Below those, five tabs give you full control over the survey.

Analytics

The Analytics tab gives you a real-time view of how your survey is performing across all channels — email invitations and the embed widget combined.

Metric

What it shows

NPS Score

Your overall Net Promoter Score across all channels

Total Responses

Total completed submissions

Avg Score

Average score out of 10

Response Rate

Percentage of reached recipients who submitted

Avg Time to Respond

Average time from delivery to submission

Score distribution — a bar chart showing response counts at each score from 0–10, color-coded by bucket.

Bucket breakdown — a donut chart with exact counts and percentages for Promoters, Passives, and Detractors.

Funnel — shows the full journey across all channels (email + embed):

  • InvitedOpenedSubmitted, with conversion percentages at each stage.

Until recipients start responding, the Analytics tab shows: "No data yet. Once recipients start responding, analytics will appear here." You can also choose to view Analytics for your embedded NPS, email NPS, or all.

Submissions

A full list of individual responses, showing each respondent's name, score, follow-up comment (if any), and submission date. Use this to review qualitative feedback alongside the score — especially useful for understanding detractor responses.

Until responses arrive: "No responses yet."

Recipients

Manage who receives your NPS survey via email. Recipients receive the NPS invitation email automatically upon being added.

There are two ways to add recipients:

  • Add recipient — manually add a single person by name and email address

  • Import from testimonials — pull in contacts from customers who have already submitted a testimonial in this Space. This is a warm, already-engaged audience and often yields a higher response rate than a cold list.

Tip: Start with "Import from testimonials" before adding recipients manually — your existing testimonial submitters already have a relationship with your product and are more likely to respond.

Settings

Edit any part of your survey after it's been created — the question, follow-up, score thresholds, auto-routing rules, email templates, and reminder settings. All the same fields from the creation form are available here. Click Save to save your changes.

Note: Changes to email templates and auto-routing rules apply to responses received after the update — they don't affect invitations already sent.

Embed

Embed your NPS survey directly on your website so visitors can respond without receiving an email invitation.

Options:

  • Dark theme — switches the widget to a dark background

  • Minimal mode — transparent background with no header, so the widget blends into your site

Pre-filling respondent details: If you already know who is viewing the page (e.g. they're logged in), you can append &email=... and &name=... to the iframe URL to pre-fill and lock the respondent's email and name. This removes the "Tell us who you are" step for identified users.

To embed:

  1. Choose your display options (dark theme, minimal mode).

  2. Click Copy code.

  3. Paste the code snippet anywhere on your website.

The embed code uses the same iframe-resizer pattern as Testimonial's Wall of Love widgets, so it auto-resizes to fit its container.
