Use Testimonial on Shopify

Embed your Wall of Love on Shopify with Custom Liquid or a page Show HTML editor. Import existing product reviews from Judge.me.

You add Testimonial to a Shopify store by pasting Wall of Love embed HTML into a Custom Liquid section, or into a page’s Show HTML editor. Testimonial is not listed as an app in the Shopify App Store. Embeds work on every plan.

Open the Space, go to Embed widgets, copy the HTML, then paste it in Shopify. To bring in existing product reviews, import from Judge.me.

How it works

In Testimonial, you create a Wall of Love under Embed widgets → Wall of Love. Copy the HTML (an iframe, and for most layouts a small resize script).

In Shopify, use one of two paths from How to embed reviews on Shopify:

  • Theme section: Themes → Customize → Add Section → Custom Liquid.

  • Dedicated page: Pages → Add page → Show HTML, then paste the same code.

The wall loads from Testimonial. Changes you make to the embed in Testimonial show on the store without pasting new code, unless you create a different embed. The same snippet works for a collecting widget or a single testimonial embed. See Embed a Wall of Love.

Before you start

  • A Testimonial Space with testimonials on the Wall of Love (heart icon). An empty wall stays empty after you embed it.

  • Shopify admin access that can edit the theme (Online Store → Themes → Customize) or create pages (Online Store → Pages).

  • A theme that supports Custom Liquid sections if you embed on a template (Online Store 2.0 themes).

Note: Wall of Love embeds are on Free, Starter, Ultimate, and Ultimate+. Removing Testimonial branding and Google rich snippets follow the plan table on pricing — manage the plan from Settings → Plan.

Step 1: Get your embed code

  1. Open your Space and click Embed widgets in the sidebar.

  2. Select the Wall of Love tab if it is not already active.

  3. If you already have an embed, click the clipboard icon on its card (Copy embed code).

  4. To create one, click Create Wall of Love, choose a layout (Masonry - animated, Masonry - fixed, or Carousel slider), customize, then click Save & Continue.

  5. On the Your Wall of Love is Ready! screen, click Copy code.

Step 2: Add it to a theme section (Custom Liquid)

Use this for the home page, product templates, or any template the theme editor can customize.

  1. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes and click Customize.

  2. Open the template where the wall should appear.

  3. Click Add section.

  4. Select Custom Liquid.

  5. Paste the embed code into the Custom Liquid editor and click Save.

Step 3: Add a dedicated testimonials page (Show HTML)

  1. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Pages and click Add page.

  2. Give the page a title (for example, Testimonials).

  3. On the right of the text editor, click Show HTML.

  4. Paste the embed code into the HTML editor and click Save.

Note: If Shopify strips <script> tags from the page HTML editor, add the same code in a Custom Liquid section on that page’s template instead (Themes → Customize → Add section → Custom Liquid).

Import existing Shopify reviews from Judge.me

If your store already collects reviews in Judge.me, import them into the Space instead of starting from zero. See Import from Judge.me.

  1. Open the Space and click Import in the sidebar.

  2. Click + Import. The picker groups SOCIAL, VIDEO, and REVIEWS. Choose Judge.me under REVIEWS.

  3. In the Import Judge.me Reviews modal, click Authenticate with Judge.me. The modal has no shop URL field and no API key field.

Note: This article stops at the authenticate button. We did not complete Judge.me OAuth in the 2026-08-19 UI pass, so the screens after you authenticate are not documented here.

You can also import one-off reviews with the browser extension Save text action.

Other Shopify paths

These are separate from the storefront embed:

  • T.E.A. after a Shopify order — forward order notification data to Testimonial Email Assistant. That flow is a draft (T.E.A. Shopify Integration Guide) and is not this embed article. T.E.A. itself is on Ultimate and Ultimate+. See Testimonial Email Assistant (T.E.A).

  • Shopify discount on the thank-you page — you can connect a Shopify store and create a fixed-amount or percentage discount as a reward after someone submits a testimonial. Connection lives on the Space thank-you settings, not in Automation. Message us in the chat widget if you need help connecting the store. Do not create a custom Shopify Partner app unless we walk you through it.
